OPENING CEREMONY

Themed "New Dimensions: lmagination Beyond the Horizon," the conference brought together over 150 presidents, deans, and professors from over 50 international art and design schools and institutions across 14 countries, as well as experts and scholars from various fields. During the two - day event, participants will share experience, discuss current trends, and look to the future together through six thematic forums, three round - table discussions and one international students' work exhibition.

On November 16 at 9:30 AM local time, the 2024 Tsinghua International Conference on Art & Design Education (lCADE) opened in Milan, ltaly. The event is hosted by Tsinghua University and co - organized by Academy of Arts & Design, Arts & Design Institute in Milan, and China - ltaly Design Innovation Hub.

本届大会以“新维度：边界之外的想象”为主题，来自全球14个国家的50余所国际艺术设计院校及机构，150余位院校长、教授，以及多领域专家学者齐聚米兰。在两天会期里，通过6场主题论坛、3场圆桌讨论和1个国际学生作品展,共享经验、共商时势、共计未来。

当地时间11月16日上午9:30，由清华大学主办，美术学院、米兰艺术设计学院、中意设计创新基地承办的2024清华国际艺术与设计教育大会在意大利米兰开幕。

OPENING ADDRESS

Qiu Yong, Secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee, Liu Kan, Consul General of China in Milan, and Professor Christoph Lindner, President of the Royal College of Art (UK) attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Giuliano Noci, Vice Rector of Politecnico di Milano, gave a video address. The opening ceremony was presided over by Ma Sai, Dean of Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University.

Qiu Yong said, “Cultural and educational exchanges serve as an important bridge for strengthening the friendship between China and Italy. Tsinghua University has always paid attention to the development of cutting - edge disciplines, committed to using beauty as a medium to promote the integration of fine arts, art, science, and technology. As an important platform for fostering cross - cultural and cross - disciplinary dialogue in art and design, the ICADE held in Milan holds great signicance in deepening cooperation between Eastern and Western art and design education, as well as in exploring the global development of the field. I look forward to the joint participation of all parties in discussing how the convergence of art and technology can better stimulate creativity and contribute to both scientic and cultural innovation.”

邱勇表示，文化与教育交流是中意两国增进友谊的重要桥梁。清华大学始终关注前沿学科发展，坚持以美为媒，推动美术、艺术、科学、技术的相互融合。作为推动艺术与设计跨文化、跨学科对话交流的重要平台，清华国际艺术与设计教育大会此次在米兰举办，对深化中西方艺术与设计教育合作、探索全球艺术与设计教育发展具有重要意义。期待各方共同参与、共同探讨如何更好地通过艺术与技术的交汇激发创造力，为科技创新和文化创新贡献力量。
