Drawing on the development of the School of Design and Art at Hunan University and the broader context of China’s industrial shift from “Made in China” to “Created in China,” Professor Tan Hao analyzed transformation strategies for design education in the face of rapid AI development. “What is crucial is how, from a design perspective, we can contribute to the sustainable development of humanity within the current technological landscape — this includes impacts on human society, culture, and the social sciences.” He advocated for problem - oriented design education that treats AI both as a material and an object of design. Through in-depth research and innovative practice, design can play a vital role in advancing the sustainable development of society and culture.

Yet, the use of existing AI technologies and resources has produced results that far exceed expectations. So, who should be considered the true author of these works?”

Professor Bogki Min pointed out that the co-evolution of humans and artificial intelligence brings new possibilities for art and design, but also calls for caution against self - reinforcing biases. He emphasized the need to redefine creativity and the role of the artist for a healthy integration of technology and culture. “Today, artists can step out of the role of creator and focus instead on defining the overall aesthetic framework and providing painting algorithms for AI. In this sense, the artist transforms into the creator of AI artists — formulating the principles that guide AI's artistic expression.”
